With PatentEase
Provisional software you can prepare provisional patent applications
(PPA’s) to file with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. A PPA
is used as an early step in the process of obtaining a
utility patent
(the
most common type). A PPA is
optional -- not required. But filing one can be a relatively
simple and is a quick way to get "patent pending" status
and to establish an early filing date. A provisional patent
application must be followed by a full regular patent application
(RPA) within
one year to take
advantage of
the earlier
PPA
filing date. A provisional patent application alone cannot
result in an issued patent.
Claims
are the detailed legal descriptions of your invention required
in a regular utility patent application, but they are not required
to be part of a provisional patent application. However, claims
may be included in your PPA and at least one claim is often recommend.

patent applications. Design patents are for the unique look --
